Introduction:

Trade Statistics data by Product Group for a Country
This page provides trade data by Product Group for a country for one year or a range of years . By default the Trading partner is World (All Countries). Use this page to obtain country's

  • Import/Export trade value in thousands of US dollar for various product groups by partner country.
  • Product Share in percentage
For Imports by default you can also obtain the following indicators
  • Effective applied trade weighted average tariff for the product group
  • MFN Weighted Average Tariff for the product group

Details:

You can add more indicators by selecting it from the "Show More Columns" drop down. For Exports, you can add the following indicators

  • Revealed Comparative Advantage (RCA) for the product group
  • World Growth in percentage for that product group
  • Country Growth in percentage for that product group
For Imports the following additional indicators can be added
  • Effectively applied Simple Average Tariff in percentage
  • Total tariff lines with effectively applied tariff
  • Dutiable tariff lines with effectively applied tariff in percentage
  • Duty free tariff lines with effectively applied tariff in percentage
  • Specific tariff lines with effectively applied tariff in percentage
  • Ad Valorem equivalent (AVE) tariff lines with effectively applied tariff in percentage
  • Effectively Applied Maximum Rate of Tariff
  • Effectively Applied Minimum Rate of Tariff
  • Effectively Applied Specific Duty Imports in thousands of US Dollar
  • Effectively Applied Dutiable Imports in thousands of US Dollar
  • Effectively Applied Duty Free Imports in thousands of US Dollar
  • Most Favored Nation (MFN) Simple Average tariff in percentage
  • Most Favored Nation (MFN) Total Tariff Lines

Charts

When you are viewing data for a particular year there is bar chart showing the top exported products.
There will be a line chart on the left for the time series chart showing top five exported or imported product groups (excluding All Products). You can add more partners from the "Show More Partners" dropdown.
Mouse over on the chart shows the corresponding values.

General

You can change your selection by clicking on the selection drop-down on top, change the variables in the popup window and click on Update. You can click on Cancel button to retain current selection. Click on the eye icon to get the metadata. To view a particular indicator as time series select a range of years from the year drop down.
You can select a different indicator's time-series data from the indicator drop down.
By default, All Product Groups are shown. You can narrow down your selection and look at a specific product group. The Product Groups available are

  • Standard SITC Revision 2 Product Groups
  • Product grouping by Sector broadly based on sector classification in HS
  • UNCTAD's Stages of Processing.
You can click on individual product group in the "Product Group" column in the table view to obtain import or export of that product group from various partner countries, or in the filter dropdown you can change from by Partner to by Product Group and select the appropriate product group.
Click on Update button after you have made the selection changes.
You can download the table data by clicking on the download icon, you can print the table by clicking on the print icon and select to print only the displayed columns or all columns by selecting the appropriate selection.
Using the scissor icon, you can clip the table or chart and use the code to embed the table or chart in your blog or web page.
To obtain the Trade summary statistics for the Country click on Summary tab.
To obtain country level, trade indicators and development indicators related to merchandise trade, services trade, trade related taxes and indicators like GDP, GNI click on the Country Tab
To obtain countries exports and import values of various product groups by the country along with product specific indicators like Revealed Comparative Advantage (RCA), Product Share, Country Growth, World Growth, Effectively applied and MFN tariff, number of dutiable lines and much more, click on the Product Groups tab.
