Building and Managing Product Groups

The product group builder utility allows managing groups of products which are available in the Aggregates tab of the Product selection panel in several WITS tools, notably Advanced Query.

Opening the product group builder utility

You can open the product group builder utility by clicking Create Product Groups in the Utilities menu
The Product group builder will open. This is where you form and manage your product groups/aggregates.

To create a product group:

1. The first step in creation of a product group is to select the Nomenclature from the nomenclature dropdown.
2. Now you can decide to create a new product group or modify an existing group.
3. To modify an existing product group click on Change Existing Groups radio button and select the product group in the dropdown and click on Modify button
4. To delete an existing product group click on Change Existing Groups radio button and select the product group in the dropdown and click on Delete button
5. To create a new group ensure New Group Name radio button is checked, enter a suitable New Group Name and New Group Description.
6. Now you can add product(s) to your group in multiple ways.
   1. Select from individual products: After selecting Level of Aggregation in the dropdown you can either select a particular product or type a product name to filter the list and use the > arrow to move the product to the right hand side.
   2. Select from product tree: You can browse through the entire product tree structure and use the > arrow to move the product to the right hand side.
   3. Select from Standard product Groups: WITS has several predefined groups for various nomenclatures. Use the > arrow to move the product group to the right hand side. When you move a group all the products of the group get listed.
   4. Select from My Product Groups: Move Product Groups created earlier by you for the nomenclature selected in step 1. Use the > arrow to move the product group to the right hand side. When you move a group all the products of the group get listed.
7. If you want to remove products from the product selection, click on the product name and click on Remove button. If you want to remove multiple products, select the products by pressing the Shift key for a continous series of products, and the Ctrl key for discontinous series and then click on Remove button. To remove all selection at one go click on Remove All button.
8. Once you are satisfied with your Product Group, click on Save button.
